Immediate Action to Support Affected Residents

Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, also the Interior Minister, instructed agencies to collect data on victims. This includes those killed, injured, or who suffered property damage. Provincial authorities will use this data to finalize compensation amounts quickly.

The Disaster Relief Fund Committee approved the following compensation:

• 1 million baht for deceased victims
• 700,000 baht for permanent disabilities
• 200,000 baht for serious injuries
• 100,000 baht for moderate injuries
• 50,000 baht for minor injuries

Deputy Prime Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga expressed sympathy. He urged agencies to deliver urgent support to families, covering both income loss and emotional well-being.

Human Toll and Displacement

As of Friday, July 25, the conflict has claimed 16 lives and forced over 120,000 people to flee their homes. Thailand recorded 14 civilian deaths and one soldier killed. Over 30 individuals sustained injuries, including 15 military personnel.

Authorities evacuated 100,672 people from border provinces like Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, and Ubon Ratchathani.

Escalating Conflict on Both Sides

Cambodian officials in Oddar Meanchey province reported one civilian death and five injuries from Thai military attacks. Around 20,000 Cambodian residents also evacuated from border zones.

Thailand rejected foreign mediation. Officials prefer direct bilateral talks with Cambodia and demand an immediate stop to military actions.
