Honor 500 Series Set to Launch With Snapdragon 8 Power
Ohana Magazine – Honor has officially confirmed that the upcoming Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro will run on a Snapdragon 8 Series chipset. This marks the first time Honor brings Snapdragon 8 power to the entire model lineup. The confirmation came from an Honor game engineer who posted the information on social media. The announcement quickly gained attention because it shifts Honor’s strategy. Previously, the Honor 400 Series used different processors for each variant. Now, Honor is unifying the hardware to offer more consistent performance across the board. With this change, the company aims to compete more aggressively in the flagship segment while delivering smoother gaming and better long-term support for users.
A 200 MP Camera Leads Honor’s New Imaging Upgrade
Honor is also preparing a major upgrade in its camera system. The Honor 500 Series will feature a 200 MP main camera, a significant jump from the previous generation. The new sensor sits inside a horizontal camera module that stretches across the back of the device. The layout, which uses two lenses and an LED flash, resembles the design approach seen in the recent iPhone Air. Although simple, the module brings a modern and premium appearance. More importantly, the 200 MP sensor allows clearer detail, better zoom, and stronger low-light performance. With this upgrade, Honor hopes to attract users who prioritize photography and expect top-tier image quality from their smartphones.

Flat Display, Metal Frame, and a New AI Shortcut Key
Honor continues its design shift with a flat display and a solid metal frame for the 500 Series. A small punch-hole sits at the top center of the screen to house the selfie camera. The biggest change, however, is the addition of a new AI shortcut key placed below the power button. This key allows users to trigger AI-assisted functions with a single press. The feature is new to Honor’s lineup and signals a deeper push into on-device AI tools. With more users relying on AI for creative tasks, productivity, and quick commands, this button may become a defining feature of the 500 Series.
Storage Options Up to 1 TB for Heavy Users
Honor is offering generous RAM and storage configurations for both models. The Honor 500 Pro will come in variants such as 12 GB/256 GB and a high-end 16 GB/1 TB option. The regular Honor 500 will offer 12 GB/256 GB, 12 GB/512 GB, and 16 GB/512 GB. These options give users plenty of space for apps, photos, videos, and advanced AI features. To add more appeal, the Pro variant is expected to arrive in four colors: Aquamarine, Starlight Pink, Obsidian Black, and Moonlight Silver. With these configurations, Honor is targeting both everyday smartphone users and power-hungry consumers who rely on larger storage.

Expected Launch Before the End of November
Honor has not announced an official release date yet. Even so, industry insiders believe the Honor 500 Series will debut before the end of November 2025. Several teasers posted on Chinese social media support this prediction. Because the new series introduces a Snapdragon 8 chipset, a 200 MP camera, a new AI button, and storage up to 1 TB, many observers consider it the most important Honor release of the year. If the launch arrives as expected, the Honor 500 Series could close the 2025 smartphone cycle with one of the strongest mid-to-premium offerings on the market. The upgrades also suggest Honor is preparing to challenge major Android manufacturers more directly in global markets.
